You will only be in your 20’s for so long. Capitalism has Americans and western societies convinced that you are only as valuable as your productivity, but this is not the case. You were not created for long workdays in cubicles with little to no leg-room. You were not created for microwave dinner and two hours of tv before bed.
This is where I get up on my soapbox. I realize that it is a privilege to be spontaneous, not everyone has the means to be, but money will always come back if you want it hard enough. A man I casually dated a month or so ago told me that he worked two different warehouse jobs for a matter of months, clocking nearly 70 hours a week all together so he could go back-packing in Europe & Asia, and he did it again and again, traveling to Spain, Brazil, Thailand, Japan, Italy, France, and the last time I saw him, he was off to Iceland. You will only be twenty for so long, so go abroad, kiss that boy, buy those festival tickets. If not in big ways, explore in little ways, climb a tree, sleep in a hammock, text that person you’ve always liked, start trying hot yoga.
One new experience can change your life. Go to a new type of concert, a hardcore show, you very well may meet your soulmates or new best friends. Compliment that girl in class, go to that club, cut those bangs, shave your eyebrows. Take the risk, ask for that promotion or take the new job. Your boss will not remember that week you took off two years ago, but you will. One day when you are 90, you will not be thinking about how many insurance plans you sold, burgers you flipped or cars you detailed, but you will be thinking about all the people you loved, and experiences you had.
PS! take a job that makes your whole life feel adventurous. For example, I’m in college, so during the year, i am a preschool teacher which i love, but over this summer, i took a summer camp job and also was an extra in a movie!

Me with other extras including my cousin on our movie set!
